I’m Anita (she/her)
I'm so glad you're here!
I'm a registered dietitian who believes nutrition care should be compassionate, collaborative and tailored to you. My goal is to help you build a more peaceful relationship with food while supporting your unique health needs. I meet my clients where they are, creating a supportive space rooted in curiosity and kindness, free from judgment, rigid rules or one-size-fits-all advice.
At Ahara Nutrition Counseling, we offer virtual nutrition counseling for individuals navigating eating disorder recovery, food and body image concerns, chronic illness and other complex nutrition needs. We work with teens (13+) and adults of all genders to create a plan that honors your lived experience, supports your goals and helps you feel more confident caring for your body.
Whether you're just starting your journey or looking for a provider who truly understands the complexities of your experience, I'd love to be part of your care team.
Why “Ahara”?
Ahara is a Sanskrit word that means "nourishment" or "that which sustains us." While it traditionally refers to the food we eat, its meaning reaches far beyond nutrition alone. It reflects the idea that our well-being is shaped by many forms of nourishment. Including our relationships, experiences, environment, movement, rest and self-compassion.
At Ahara Nutrition Counseling, this philosophy is at the heart of my approach to care. I believe that caring for yourself is about more than following food rules or striving for perfection. It's about finding sustainable ways to support your physical health, emotional well-being and overall quality of life while honoring your unique needs, values and lived experience.

Our Services
Our work together begins with an initial intake appointment where we’ll explore your nutrition history, medical background, relationship with food and goals for working together. From there, we’ll work together to create an approach that feels right for you and supports both your physical and emotional well-being through ongoing nutrition counseling.
